You Haunt Me – Sir Sly

28 Jul

We finally have an album release date of September 16th for my favorite band and obsession for over a year, Sir Sly.  I’ve been following these guys since I first came across “Where I’m Going” last spring and my love for them only grows each time I see them live.  From their show at Holy Mountain last November to the multiple SXSW sets I was able to catch this year, I’m continually amazed by their talent.  The release date of their debut album You Haunt Me is bolded and highlighted on my calendar, along with August 27th when they will be making their way back to Austin for a show at The Parish.  You can check out their newest single “You Haunt Me” off the upcoming album below.

Litost – Ambassadors

20 Feb

I was torn whether to post the studio or acoustic version of this song, both are beautiful but I decided with lyrics as amazing as these are I’d post the raw acoustic version.  I can’t say that I’m a huge lyric buff, don’t get me wrong I do appreciate a well written song when I hear one, but I’m not usually one to dissect and analyze.  I’ll have to say however that with this song I certainly made an exception.  When I first heard this I immediately wanted to know what Litost meant and once I knew it couldn’t be a more perfect title.  A Czech word for a state of misery or torment, that is exactly what these heart wrenching lyrics convey.
